Dreams Take Flight Raffle

Dreams Take Flight Logo

Greetings – once again Children at Risk is helping Dreams Take Flight to sell their terrific Raffle Tickets – please note that this Raffle is NOT for Children at Risk, but that our charity benefits annually with having children included in the Flight! Please let us know how many tickets you want – and (as time allows this year) we would prefer payment in cash or cheque made out to Dreams Take Flight Ottawa, as we are passing on the proceeds to them. Include a mailing address so we can send your tickets out car@childrenatrisk.ca.

With another successful flight behind us, it is time to raise money for its 2014 flight. DTF Ottawa is now selling tickets for its raffle on December 20, 2013 at 12 pm at the Ottawa Airport (winner need not be present). Tickets are $10 each. Only 3,000 tickets will be sold so hurry to get yours before they are sold out!

About Dreams Take Flight Ottawa

DTF Ottawa is a not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to providing a one-day trip of a lifetime to Disney’s Magic Kingdom for physically, mentally and/or socially challenged children in Canada’s National Capital Region.

Every year, we take approximately 125 children and 95 volunteers (including flight crew, media, photographers and medical staff) from the National Capital Region to Disney. The total cost for our yearly trip is approximately $195,000. In year’s past, we have been fortunate enough to have 60% of our costs covered through gift-in-kind donations. For example, Air Canada donates the aircraft. And for every child and volunteer, Marks has donated the clothing, Crocs has donated the footwear and Bentley has donated the backpacks. The remainder of the costs associated with this adventure (e.g. aircraft fuel, aircraft ground handling, bus transportation, Disney admission tickets, children’s spending money for souvenirs, meals and a photo book for each child) are funded by corporate and private sponsors as well as through events. Air Canada employees and members of the community donate their time year round to raise the funds, plan the adventure and make this a memorable day for the children!
