Post message: autismsupportOttawa@yahoogroups.com Site: Spectrum Intervention Group Spectrum Intervention Group is a non-profit child care centre licensed under the Day Nurseries Act of the Province of Ontario to provide education, including care and guidance of children who are diagnosed with a Pervasive Developmental Disorder. Governed by a Board of Directors comprised significantly of parents of children with PDD, experienced professionals in the field, as well as business people, we are federally incorporated, and registered as a Charity.
Site: Autism Resources This site is essentially a huge list of links to other sites dealing with autism. The links are grouped into sections. Some of the sections are treatment methods, research, libraries, online papers, and organizations. If you want a single, all-purpose site this is it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Site: Educating The Student With Autism A link put together by the Saskatchewan school system, not overly long but offers some good pointers.
Site: The Geneva Centre The Geneva Centre in Toronto now has a web site. The site has info on the various courses they offer, reference material, and of course lots of links. RECOMMENDED.
Site: The Special Needs Education Network Special Needs Education Network (SNE). SNE provides Internet resources specific to parents, teachers, schools, and other professionals, individuals, groups, and organizations involved in the education of students with special needs. This site has lots of interesting stats, news items, discussion groups, and a list of upcoming meetings. Always worth a quick visit.
Site: Andrew Fleck Child Care Centre Children's Integration Support Services (CISS) is a bilingual service funded by the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services. CISS provides support services to licensed nursery schools, day care centres and private home child care programs that integrate children with special needs within the Ottawa-Carleton region.
Site: Family Net Helping families through shared experiences. The Family Net web site is committed to providing information and support to those families in Ontario who have a child or children with any kind of special need. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
